In theroy they should work, though I have no idea on how X and the kernel and its drivers “hang together”. That’s pretty much what I did as well. Active threads Mark site read. I will check more details next week. I feel like it was a bit of a waste of money too. Can you just “get away” with compiling the driver or do you need to compile an entirely new kernel along with the driver or even with mesa for 3d? Hopefully this information might help someone else however.

That’s pretty much what I did as well. Front The front is not shown on vubox image. So for now it is back to the bottom of the drawer for the cubox.

I tried using that patch and it managed to compile the driver. It does all I need.

I build the debian stretch default desktop version, but there is no xserver-xorg-video-imx-viv and thus the desktop feels really laggy. With this I was able to get glmark2 and glxgears to show up and apparently both are running with hardware acceleration. I know this dosen’t seem like a particularly helpful post but ccubox all I know about x acceleration on cubox.

I will investigate on the graphics system around end of January, as till then the most needed features of the project itself are implemented. Snag is though the X server seems to be using the framebuffer.
The device I’ve managed to get debian stretch onto is the cubox i4 pro. I hope all the above with regards to installation works for others – apologies for any mistakes!
